I can't believe that with just 4 episodes, this anime already has become literally the best anime adaptation of Kancolle, seeing actual humans and the Admiral was jaw dropping for me... seriously, why we didn't get this for the first Kancolle anime?

This honestly has surpassed my expectations, and I'm loving what I'm seeing, and yet the war is not over however... it's also very interesting that we're getting the pairing of Shigure and Yukikaze, both being famous/infamous ship of the IJN... the story is indeed getting spicy!

Keep in mind that Fuso and Yamashiro were built from 1912-1913, and even with all of the modernizations in the 1930s they were still considered outdated by the end of 1944

they got lucki that they were decommissioned it could've ended with them being sunk/died

Which is what actually happens in the game, there's no retirement there, only death.

That was a nice little callout about Mogami avoiding the collision with Nachi this time around.

Anime use flower language a lot for symbolism and foreshadowing.

Red, Lycoris Radiata is used often in anime and Japanese visual media due to its associations with death (Buddhist tradition is to plant them on graves so the dead can be remembered even after the grave is gone)

Blue, Lycoris sprengeri are associated with truth, calmness and stability.

Orange, Lycoris Sanguinea with conviction, honour, confidence and success
